The Association of Friends of Nevil Matthews
The Association of Friends of Nevil Matthews is dedicated to preserving the memory of Brisbane artist Nevil Matthews (1930-2013). The founding members are persons who have provided assistance, encouragement or support for my research in connection with the artist’s work, including the exhibition „Nevil Matthews: Memorial Exhibition 1“ (P estorius Sweeny House, Brisbane, 2017), „Purple, again“ (Matthew House, Brisbane, 2017), „Call of the Avant-Garde: Constructivism and Australia“ (Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, 2017) and „The Association of Friends of Nevil Matthews: Memorial Exhibition 2“ (Pestorius Sweeney House, Brisbane, 2017). Other members are persons who joined in 2018 or later and who have subscribed to the ideals of the association. Each member shall receive a small drawing by Nevil Matthews, which drawing was found in a manila folder in the artist’s studio by Janet de Boer, the lawful inheritor of his estate, and made available for this purpose. The drawing in question is reproduced under the founding member’s name below on this record of membership.
